Inspired by the scientific, cultural and aesthetic context of the 1960s, this proposal reflects on the tension between technological coldness and profound human warmth.

Taking the first artificial heart transplant as its starting point, we explore the moment when humanity begins to confront its own ability to replace the organic with the mechanical, without losing the emotional essence that defines us.

“Manos frías, corazón caliente” speaks to this duality: clinical precision versus vital impulse, rational gesture versus the inner heartbeat. We situate ourselves in a time when modernity was beginning to challenge the limits of the human body, while desire, emotion and sensitivity resisted being replaced by the logic of machines.

This narrative brings the metaphor of emotion in an age of artifice into the present, reclaiming human warmth within an environment dominated by technology and perfection. Through a 1960s-inspired aesthetic, where futurism coexisted with understated elegance and space-age optimism, we propose a vision in which the artificial and the human merge to create a new kind of sensitivity.
